Celeste, a Guardian Angel (in training), is simply trying to do her best. She’s desperate to help Norah, her first assigned Soul, learn her final Life Lesson. A Soul only gets twenty-five lives, after all, and well, Norah is on her twenty-fifth. If Norah never learns her final Lesson, she won’t move on to the afterlife. And Celeste cannot let that happen. When the Council denies Celeste the chance to go down to Earth and shake Norah out of her slump, she does what any great Guardian-in-training would do: she defies their orders and goes anyway.
